It’s Ok To Be Different

I was having a conversation with a family member the other day, and they said something that made me pause.
“Y’all need to settle down.”

Settle down?
I asked, “Why?”

What’s settling down gonna do?
Who does it please?
What does it prove?

See, for some people, settling down is the goal. The house, the routine, the predictable life. And there’s nothing wrong with that—if that’s what GOD put in your heart.

But I looked at them and said,
“Maybe you should travel more.”

They replied,
“I don’t want to.”

I said,
“Exactly. We’re not the same.”

And that’s when it clicked for me:
GOD didn’t call us all to the same path.
Some people are built to be rooted in one place. Others are built to move, to experience, to walk unfamiliar roads and stretch beyond what’s comfortable.

Different Doesn’t Mean Wrong

This world will try to pressure you to follow a blueprint that doesn’t even match your purpose.
To settle down when GOD told you to step out.
To stay still when HE told you to go.

But when you’re called to something different, it shows up in how you move.
It shows up in what excites you, what burdens you, what makes you feel alive.

And honestly, I’m not interested in performing peace just so I look stable to other people.
If GOD told me to move—I'm moving.
Even if it makes no sense to the ones watching.

Take the Step

Sometimes obedience looks like movement.
Sometimes it means leaving what’s familiar.
Sometimes it means saying, “I love y’all, but I can’t stay here—not just physically, but mentally, emotionally, spiritually.”

Because purpose requires motion.
And you can’t walk into something new with your feet glued to what’s old.

Hebrews 11:8 (NLT) says:
“It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going.”

That’s real faith.
That’s trusting the GPS of GOD even when the map ain’t fully clear.

So Here’s What I Know

I wasn’t made to sit still.
And you might not have been either.
GOD may be calling you to move in a way that doesn’t make sense to the people closest to you.
They may not get it—and that’s okay.

You weren’t called to be understood.
You were called to be obedient.

So whether you’re walking, flying, driving, or leaping… just make sure you’re moving toward what GOD showed you.

Even if nobody claps.
Even if folks say, “You need to settle down.”
Even if you have to go alone.

Because the truth is—some of us were born to go.
And the road we’re on may not look traditional.
But it’s exactly where GOD needs us to be.
