When Peace Feels Like Home
I used to hear people talk about “quality of life” like it was this fancy term on a brochure. A concept for retirees or folks with big bank accounts. But now? Whew… I feel it in my bones. I feel it in the way I wake up with no alarm. In the way my kids laugh more. In the sun that hits my skin without stress chasing me down.
Quality of life is real — and I’ve never known it like I do now.
The Freedom to Breathe Again
A few months ago, my husband and I packed up our life, grabbed our kids and a few suitcases, and moved to Mexico. Not forever — but for a few months. We just wanted to try something different. Something lighter. Something that felt like peace.
People thought we were crazy. Some even said it was irresponsible. But guess what? It’s been one of the best decisions we’ve made.
We didn’t just change locations — we changed our lives.
Peace Is a Form of Wealth
There was a time when everything felt heavy — bills, news, work, expectations, racism, and just surviving in a country that wasn’t built with us in mind. It wasn’t just about how much money we made. It was the emotional tax. The spiritual drain. That constant hustle to prove our worth and stay afloat.
But now? I feel light. Not because life is perfect. But because I’m finally in a space that gives back what I put in.
Being able to walk outside and feel safe. Hearing your children play without fear. Getting fresh food without breaking the bank. Resting your body without guilt.
That’s wealth.
GOD Wants You Well — Inside and Out
It hit me: GOD didn’t just call us to survive. He called us to thrive.
To flourish. To enjoy the fruits of our obedience.
“Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in good health, even as your soul prospers.”
— 3 John 1:2
That verse isn’t just about cash flow — it’s about quality of life. GOD cares about your whole well-being: mentally, spiritually, physically, and emotionally.
Walking Forward Was Worth It
Moving, trusting GOD, letting go of what was familiar — it wasn’t easy. But every moment of discomfort led to this new level of peace. I’m not surviving anymore — I’m living.
So if you’ve been wondering if it’s worth it to take the leap — to change cities, shift lifestyles, set boundaries, or follow GOD’s nudge — let this be your confirmation:
Peace is on the other side of obedience.
Take inventory of your life. Does it feel like freedom? Does it reflect the peace GOD promised? If not… it may be time to shift. Your peace is waiting. Your joy is waiting.
Don’t settle for surviving — GOD wants you living.
